09.25.07 - Boston's not the hub of biking safely

Mayor taking steps to cast the city in better light:

When it comes to riding a bike in and around Boston, it can be downright dangerous.

Many of the bike paths in the Boston area are poorly maintained, ill conceived or downright dangerous.

Bike lanes throughout the city were worn out, clotted with gravel and leaves - and often stop short after 150 yards or less. ^ TOP

04.02.07 - Opening Day!!!!

Today is probably one of the greatest days of the year. The major league baseball season begins and I finally have something to look forward to watching on ESPN again. Phew... it's been a long off-season. One of the things I'm looking forward to is the day when Jeter and Arod fight each other on the field.

I know, I know... it sounds weird. I even drafted Arod on my fantasy baseball team... so why would I want such a thing? Because Arod would perform so much better on a crappy team. On said team, he would be able to regain his title of "captain" or "ace" or "best offensive producer". Basically, there are too many superstars on the Yankees, and Jeter started with the Yankees, will end with the Yankees, and cannot be replaced as the team leader and spokesperson.

So, as always, it should be an amazing year with tons of surprises and upsets. October may be 6 months away, but it will be here sooner than you think, and yes, every game counts. In addition to the Jeter/Arod drama, I'm also going to make my official guess that Steinbrenner makes his "I'm pissed" statement on or before May 15th. This is because the Yankees haven't gone 30-0, and because he pays out the ass for his all-star team, he demands perfection. ^ TOP

02.16.07 - Cross Country Bike Trip - Update

Not that this is a huge milestone, but I have my route set from MA to CT. I will try to do a 2-day trip in a few weeks if the weather turns a bit warmer to work out the kinks and ensure that my cue sheets are detailed enough. Additionally, it will be helpful to know just how accurate the online map systems (google, microsoft, et al.) actually are versus gettting a huge-ass road map.

More to come, and once I get a blog going on my other website, I'll stop using this one. ^ TOP
